# Manage your plan and billing

> Change your plan, buy add-ons, manage a trial, cancel, update payment details, and check your usage.

## Before you start

* **Account:** billing belongs to your own SiteGPT account. It is not part of a chatbot, and team member roles do not give access to it.
* **Plan details:** for what each plan includes, see [Plans and limits](/docs/reference/plans-and-limits.md). For prices, see [sitegpt.ai/pricing](https://sitegpt.ai/pricing).

## Where to find billing

In the top navigation, select **Billing**. The **Plans & Billing** page opens.

* If you have a plan and a chatbot is open, the same links are named **Your Account** and **Your Usage**.
* Each person sees only their own plan and billing. If you are a member of someone else's chatbot, you do not see their plan.
* If you have never had a plan and you only work on chatbots that other people own, you do not see **Billing** or **Usage** in the navigation. You see **Start Trial** instead.

## Change your plan

**1. Open Billing**

In the top navigation, select **Billing**.

**2. Open the plans**

In **Current Plan**, select **Change plan**. The pricing page opens.

**3. Choose monthly or yearly**

The page shows your current billing interval. To change it, select **Pay Monthly** or **Pay Yearly**.

**4. Choose a plan**

On the plan you want, select **Change plan**.

**5. Confirm**

Your browser asks you to confirm the change. Confirm the dialog.

The new plan starts immediately. You pay or get credit for the difference right away. During a free trial you are not charged for the change.

### Check that it works

**Current Plan** on the **Billing** page shows the new plan. Your new limits show on the **Usage** page.

## Buy or remove an add-on

You can buy add-ons on any plan while you have a subscription. After you schedule a cancellation, the add-on buttons are hidden.

* **Remove 'Powered by SiteGPT' (Addon)**: lets you edit or remove the "Powered by SiteGPT" line in the widget.
* **Extra Messages (Addon)**: adds messages every month. You choose how many packs.
* **WhatsApp (Addon)**: lets your chatbots answer on WhatsApp. You choose how many WhatsApp numbers, one for each chatbot that you connect. See [Connect WhatsApp](/docs/integrations/whatsapp.md).
* **AI Email Support (Addon)**: gives your chatbots their own email addresses, so they answer your customers' emails. You choose how many inboxes, one for each email address. AI replies by email use your plan's message allowance. See [Email](/docs/integrations/email.md).

**1. Open Billing**

In the top navigation, select **Billing**.

**2. Find the add-on**

Find the add-on on the **Plans & Billing** page.

**3. Choose the quantity**

For **Extra Messages (Addon)**, use the minus and plus buttons to set the number of packs. For **WhatsApp (Addon)**, use them to set the number of WhatsApp numbers. For **AI Email Support (Addon)**, use them to set the number of inboxes. Skip this step for the branding add-on.

**4. Buy the add-on**

Select **Subscribe**. The button also shows the price. If you change the number of packs you already have, the button says **Upgrade** or **Downgrade**. For WhatsApp, it says **Add numbers** or **Remove numbers**. For AI email support, it says **Add inboxes** or **Remove inboxes**.

**5. Confirm**

A dialog opens. It says what the add-on does and when you are charged or credited. Select the button in the dialog to confirm, or select **Cancel**.

For **Extra Messages (Addon)**, **WhatsApp (Addon)**, and **AI Email Support (Addon)**, the page shows an error below the add-on if you select the button with a quantity of 0 when you have none ("Quantity cannot be zero. Please increase it to at least 1."), or with the same quantity that you already have ("Quantity is the same as before. Please increase or decrease it by at least 1."). For WhatsApp and AI email support, the button shows **Current** when the quantity is the same. Change the quantity and try again.

To remove the branding add-on, select **Remove addon**, then select **Remove addon** in the dialog. To remove Extra Messages, set the number of packs to 0 and select **Downgrade**. To remove WhatsApp, set the number of WhatsApp numbers to 0 and select **Remove**. To remove AI email support, set the number of inboxes to 0 and select **Remove**.

You cannot set the WhatsApp add-on lower than the number of WhatsApp numbers that are connected to your chatbots. The card shows them, for example "1 of 2 connected". Disconnect a number first. See [Remove the WhatsApp add-on](/docs/integrations/whatsapp.md#remove-the-whatsapp-add-on). While your subscription is paused, you cannot change the WhatsApp add-on. Resume the subscription first.

In the same way, you cannot set the AI Email Support add-on lower than the number of email inboxes in use on your chatbots. The card shows them, for example "1 of 2 in use." Remove inboxes on each chatbot's Email page first. See [Remove an address or email](/docs/integrations/email.md#remove-an-address-or-email). While your subscription is paused, the card shows "Subscription paused. Resume it to change inboxes."

Add-on changes are charged or credited right away. During a free trial they are not charged.

If the billing service refuses an add-on change, the page shows a message that starts with "We couldn't make this change.", for example "We couldn't make this change. Try again in a moment. If it keeps failing, email [support@sitegpt.ai](mailto:support@sitegpt.ai)." Nothing changes and nothing is charged.

After you buy the branding add-on, edit the "Powered by SiteGPT" line in [Appearance](/docs/guides/widget/appearance.md). After you buy the WhatsApp add-on, connect a number from your chatbot's Integrations page. See [Connect WhatsApp](/docs/integrations/whatsapp.md#connect-whatsapp). After you buy the AI Email Support add-on, create an email address from your chatbot's Integrations page. See [Create the email address](/docs/integrations/email.md#create-the-email-address).

### Check that it works

The add-on shows on the **Plans & Billing** page with the date it renews.

## Manage your free trial

While your trial runs, the **Billing** page shows how many days are left and when the trial ends.

* **End the trial now:** select **End trial & bill now**, and confirm. Your card is charged right away and your paid plan starts.
* **Extend the trial:** select **Cancel Subscription** in the **Danger Zone**. In the dialog, select **Extend Trial by 7 Days**. Tell us what you need more time for, in at least 25 characters. Then select **Extend trial by 7 days**.

## Cancel your subscription

**1. Open Billing**

In the top navigation, select **Billing**.

**2. Start the cancellation**

In the **Danger Zone**, select **Cancel Subscription**.

**3. Confirm**

Read what you will lose, then select **Proceed to cancel**.

**4. Give feedback**

Tell us why you are leaving, in at least 25 characters. Then select **Cancel subscription**.

When the cancellation takes effect depends on your subscription:

| Subscription | What happens |
| - | - |
| Active (paid) | Your chatbots keep working until the end of the current billing period. |
| Free trial, or any other status | The subscription ends immediately and your chatbots stop answering. |

When the subscription ends, your plan limits drop to zero. Your chatbots stop answering visitors, and you cannot add or resync content. You can still sign in and delete content, chatbots, or your account. SiteGPT schedules the chatbots and their data (conversations, documents, and leads) for deletion no earlier than 30 days after the subscription ends. At least seven days before the deletion date, SiteGPT emails the account owner that date. To keep your chatbots, subscribe again before that date. To delete them sooner, delete your chatbots or your account yourself.

### Check that it works

For a paid plan, the **Billing** page shows **You have canceled your subscription.** and the date your plan expires.

### Undo a cancellation

If your paid plan is set to cancel at the end of the period, the **Billing** page shows a banner with the end date. Select **Don't cancel** to keep your subscription.

## Update your payment method

**1. Open Billing**

In the top navigation, select **Billing**.

**2. Update the card**

Select **Update Payment Method**. Enter your new payment details on the page that opens.

## Download invoices and add business details

* **Invoices:** go to **Billing History** on the **Billing** page. Select **Download** next to the invoice you need. Invoices from older subscriptions are under **Past Subscriptions**.
* **Business details:** in **Business details**, select **Add business** or **Edit**. Enter the **Business name**, and optionally the **Tax / VAT ID** and **Company number**. Select **Save business details**. These details show on your invoices.

## Check your usage

In the top navigation, select **Usage**. The **Account Usage** page shows:

* Chatbots, pages, and team members used, against your plan limits.
* Messages used this month for GPT-4.1 and GPT-4.1-mini.
* A slider that sets how your message allowance is split between the two models. Select **Save Changes** after you move it.
* **Usage History**: a chart of your message use over the last 12 months. Select **GPT-4.1-mini** or **GPT-4.1** to switch the chart.

Message usage resets on the 1st of each month. For how pages and messages are counted, see [Plans and limits](/docs/reference/plans-and-limits.md).

## Refunds

For refunds, see the [Terms of Service](https://sitegpt.ai/legal/terms) or contact [support@sitegpt.ai](mailto:support@sitegpt.ai).

## Older subscriptions

If you subscribed before the current plans, your **Billing** page can look different. It shows the options for your older subscription and an offer to move to the current plans.
